I can NOT believe that its already the second week of the new year! Didn't I just clean up all the wrapping paper from Christmas??? Whoa Nelly!
We are already back into the swing of life and back to busy, busy, busy!!! So here's a few randoms about what's going on around here and how the new year has been so far.
Bronx Monster was cleared to begin his "rehabilitation/physical therapy" last week after his not so cheap post surgery x-ray. He is now doing 2) 10minute walks per day and some stretches. We'll continue to gradually increase the walking time each week for the next 6 weeks. I'm just extremely thankful that we actually made it through the first 6 weeks of zero activity and he's healing perfectly! Praise the Lord! Hopefully next week we will be able to remove the mattress laying in our living room floor and put it back on our spare bed...that mattress has been our saving grace through this entire surgery process, I'm positive that without it, someone may have not made it out of this ordeal alive! I kid, I kid....well kinda.
Here's the little big Bronx monster.
(Umm, please excuse that present over in the corner. Yes, I know its January. Yes, I know I'm an awful person for not delivering it before now! Fail!)
I didn't set resolutions for this new year. Instead of resolutions, I set myself goals. Goals that are attainable and reachable.
- I want to be a healthy weight. Not hard core extreme diets or anything. I just want to make healthier food choices and be a little more active. My goal is to make some life style changes and drop at least 20 pounds this year.
- I want to make more time for my crafts and hobbies. I've recently taken an interest in appliques and cloth transfers. I'd like to get back into my flower arranging and be more creative with my decorating at home via DIY projects. I hope that my new family binder I created will allow me to manage my time and tasks better to have some extra time on the weekends or at night to craft.
- I want to be more organized and keep a tidy house. I don't know how two people and a dog can destroy a fresh, clean house in a matter of 2 hours, but we can! I want to keep things in their place and make a habit of putting things away when we're finished with them and not making so many "piles" all over the place. Hello, my name is Charlee. I am a piler!
- I want to rid myself of majority of my debt. I say majority, because, well I don't exactly have 100,000 to pay off my home. I'm working on it, ha! If I can pay off the credit card and finish out these last 5 payments on my dear sweet Corolla then I'll be pretty much, debt free. Debt free.....man, those words sound like music, sweet, sweet music!
- I want to spend more quality time with my husband. Sometimes I feel like life consumes us and so much of our time that when we do have time to spend together we usually watch TV or sit in the living room together while one of us surfs the web and the other folds clothes (can you guess which role each of us fit into? Ha!) I want to go for long walks, picnics, hikes in the mountains, attend surrounding county festivals, and such. I want to be useful with our time and make memories together. I want to get up and do something together & just have a good time. We don't have to be on vacation or have a special date/occasion to do fun things! If I'm going to follow my debt free plan, most of these activities will need to be cheap or free and that's fine with me!
Those sound like great goals!! Time sure does fly by!
