30 Days of Thanks - Day 1-17

Day #1: today I am thankful for the wonderful creations God has made for man to enjoy. I am thankful for the beautiful earth he made for us and everything he put on the earth for us to marvel at.

Day # 2: today I am thankful for modern veterinarian medicine/surgical procedures that will help my sweet fur-baby regain use of his leg.

Day #3: today I am thankful for shelter, clothing, and food. Three things that some people in our community struggle for daily. Three things that those who are more fortunate than others sometimes take for granted.

Day # 4: today I am thankful for my health. I have had a few issues in the past and God has allowed me to heal and overcome most of them. I can function normally and continue to help provide for my family and for that I am forever thankful.

Day # 5: today I am thankful for my friends. I know that sometimes life gets in the way and we aren't able to see each other and spend time together as much as we would like, but I love and appreciate each and every one of you!

Day # 6: today I am thankful for my job. Even though it may be stressful, I know that its helping those who are less fortunate and providing for my own family in return.

Day #7: today I am thankful FB has a delete button. Its a lovely site that allows me to connect with old friends and family that do not leave near. However, I am thankful that with only 1 click and I can remove those who are too nosey, to overbearing, or too negative from my little social world. (okay, okay that was a little rude....I'm really thankful for all the technology that allows me to visit virtually with family and friends that don't live near so that in some way or another we can still maintain our close relationships and be a part of each others lives)

Day # 8: today I'm thankful for my car. It is a reliable little car that gets me where I need to go even though it isn't super nice or special.

Day # 9: today I am thankful for the person I call my sister, even though we do not share the same blood. Kelli and I have been through a lot together over the years and have still remained the closest of friends. I couldn't imagine what my life would have been without her, nor what it would be without her in my future. Thanks for always sticking by me Sis, I love ya!

Day # 10: today I am thankful that 2 years ago God let a furry little puppy come into this world and 6 weeks later he let him come into my life. He may have 4 legs and lots of fur, but he is and always will be my 1st "child." He taught me how to love and care for someone more than I knew I was capable of and has brought so much joy into my life. Happy 2nd Birthday, Bronx! Mama loves you!

Day # 11 (11/11/11): today I am thankful for my freedom. I am thankful that service men and women are willing to fight for my freedom daily. Thank you all...past, present, and future veterans!

Day #12: I am thankful for the wonderful weather God has blessed us with lately!

Day #13: I am thankful for all the things that make my house a home and being able to start new family traditions with my own little family.

Day # 14: today I am thankful for my baby brother. He'll always be a baby in my eyes, even though he is now twice my size and without him my childhood would have been very boring and un-eventful. Little brother,
you drive me up the wall sometimes, but I love ya to the moon!

Day # 15: today I am thankful for the strength and guidance God provides for me daily. This may be one of the hardest weeks/weekends of my life, but with his arms wrapped around me I know that he will not lead me astray and will keep me strong!

Day #16: today I am thankful for my brother-in-law, Michael (better known as Biscuit). I have probably gotten on every last one of his nerves over the years, but I love him like he's my own and I would do anything for him. He's always come running when I needed him and been there to help me out. I'm thankful and proud to call him family.

Day # 17: today I am thankful that Bronx's surgery went as planned, without complications and that he is awake from the anesthesia. I am thankful for our surgeon who was amazing and truly cares for his patients, even if they are of the 4 leg variety!

Now I do realize that I haven't mentioned my parents & hubby & some other special people, but I wanted to include them in my days 21-25 for the week of actual Thanksgiving! I wanted to clear that up before anyone thinks that I'm heartless and forgot about them! Ha!

30 Days of Thanks

I saw on facebook that there are many posts going around about giving "30 Days of Thanks."
Basically, one post per day of something you are thankful for during the entire month of November.
I try to be thankful all year round and multiple times per day, but I like the idea of actually making the things you are thankful for verbal.
It also reminds you how important it is to give thanks for things you have and appreciate in your life.
Now....I have a pup on bed rest (yes...a 100lb Lab on bed rest. I'm sure this will result in another post about the pup in the future) with a torn ACL that will be having some major surgery within the next week and a half, so I'm not going to have time to blog every single day about what I am thankful for.

I am posting daily on FB, since I can do that easily from my phone and I usually keep up with family and friends daily there anyways.
However, I am going to try to split up my 30 days of thanks into two blog posts with 15 days in each one.
I think maybe next year we may do a small box with cards within my family and then read them all and possibly share them at the end of the month. Its just an extra way to make sure we are all doing our part to thank God and those who are important in our lives for all that they do for us and how they make us feel.

I also found a  website about this trend.
