Coach's First Season

Quick update, for the record: The team won their second scrimmage on 2/23/12. Score was 15-1! Yay!

David's very first official season opener is scheduled for tomorrow. I'm not sure who is more excited, me or him? This has been a long time coming for Dave and I could not be prouder of him! He has been an awesome assistant coach (and will remain an assistant for the American Legion team) for several years and I'm so glad his time has finally come to step up into this head coaches position.

These past two games have been scrimmages and those don't actually count for the season, but it was great practice and the players were able to get a little extra practice for the upcoming season.

Here's hoping it doesn't rain the game out tomorrow and that I can be on the ball field cheering on those Bulldogs tomorrow!!!

Batter Up!

Dave's new season has started!
The try-outs are over and the new team hit the field this week for their very first scrimmage game. They won 5-3!! Gooooo Bulldogs!

(that's my coach)
Dave has always worn his old number - 8

This is Dave's first year as a head coach for the High School level and he has been super nervous! I hope winning his first game took a little pressure off of his shoulders. He has a great team of some really good boys and I know that he'll lead them to victory! I'm so proud!

Liquid gold or gas?

Now, I completely understand that everyone has to make a buck. No one would be in business if a profit wasn't mean to be made.....however, this is getting a bit ridiculous! I'm putting almost $50 in my little, itty, bitty, gas sippin' Toyota Corolla per trip to the pump. People, this is absurd! I'm used to putting around $20 in that baby and hittin' the road all week long! This is really cutting into our budget. We're on a fixed income here, geez!

Do you feel like this lately about the gas prices? (Don't even get me started on the rising cost of food! OMG)
